Ruby Hill Rail Yard to wind down seasonal operations
Boarders and skiers hoping to grab a few more runs at the Ruby Hill Rail Yard, don’t wait too long as Denver Parks and Recreation has announced the park’s last days of operation before closing for the season.
Thursday, March 20 will be the last day to ride the terrain park and features before the season ends, according to a press release from DPR.
Park staff will begin removing park features on March 21. No gear lending will be available that day
Instructors will offer two “Learn to Ride Denver” sessions on the weekend of March 22 and 23 for beginners and those who want to improve their skills.
Created in 2007 as a collaboration between DPR and Winter Park Resort, the Ruby Hill Rail Yard, located at 1200 W. Florida Ave. just west of South Platte River Drive, offers a variety of rails, boxes and other configurations for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. Winter Park Resort contributes its technical expertise in rail park design while DPR manages the location and operations.
Open to both snowboarders and skiers, the park is free to the public.
