Plane crashes in field in Boulder County

A small plane crashed in a field in Boulder County Saturday morning, according to the North Metro Fire Rescue District.

According to reporting from 9News, North Metro Fire was notified around 10 a.m. that a plane was returning to the airport due to an emergency after taking off. The plane crashed in a field near the intersection of Brainard Drive and Midway Boulevard.

Crews with North Metro Fire found a fire when they arrived at the scene and extinguished it quickly.

According to 9News, none of the passengers on board the plane survived. The Boulder County Corner’s Office will release the exact number of passengers and their identities.

The National Transportation Safety Board has been notified of the crash.
