1 dead in late night LoDo shooting, Denver police investigate as homicide

One person is dead following a shooting in the lower downtown Denver area Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred along the 2200 block of Blake Street, Denver police posted on social media platform X at 12:21 a.m.

The shooting occurred around midnight, according to police.

At 8:26 a.m. on Sunday, police reported one victim died in the shooting.

The shooting remains under investigation.

A Denver police spokesperson told The Denver Gazette the shooting is not related to the late-night protests in the area, which occurred a couple hours prior.
