Boulder police arrest man on suspicion of robbing bank, attempting to rob woman Thursday

Boulder police arrested a man on suspicion of robbing a bank and attempting to rob a woman in Boulder on Thursday.

David Lloyd Martinez, 46, was arrested on charges of both robbery and attempted robbery for the incident that occurred in the 1600 block of 28th Street in Boulder at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday, according to a news release.

Martinez, police said, first assaulted and attempted to rob a woman of her bicycle at the Home Depot on 28th Street in Boulder and she sustained minor injuries in the incident. He then made his way to the U.S. Bank down the street, which he robbed.

Police would not confirm how exactly Martinez stole money from the bank as the investigation is ongoing, though they do not believe that anyone else was involved in the incident at this time.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Boulder Police Department at (303) 441-1974. The incident is being investigated under the report number 25-05147.
