Beginning on Tuesday, July 1, fees to record documents with the Denver Clerk and Recorder will increase to $43 to comply with new state laws. The increase applies to all county-recorded documents, including foreclosures, releases and quit claim deeds.
Death records are exempt from this fee.
Appointments are not required during the month of June for in-person document recording requests between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
For recording large-format documents, such as maps, an appointment is still required.
Any documents received after June 30 must include the new $43 fee. Submissions with incorrect payment will be rejected.
Pedal cabs must be licensed by the city
Pedal cabs are one of the more popular ways to get around the city. However, city officials want potential riders to be aware that pedal cab operators must be licensed to operate in the City and County of Denver. They must be employed by a pedal cab company, which also must have a city license.
Licensed pedal cab companies are required to have adequate liability insurance to protect riders.
Before taking a pedal cab ride, make sure:
-
There is a visible license plate displayed on the pedal cab.
-
The operator is displaying their pedal cab driver’s license ID on their outermost garment.
-
The operator is loading and unloading passengers with at least a minimum 5-foot walk path for all pedestrians.
Only ride a pedal cab that is properly and currently licensed. Learn more:https://bit.ly/3Xoy63y
Family law open forum
Denver’s family law open forums are free legal clinics hosted by Denver Human Services where residents may learn more about the how and why of going to court over family matters. Attorneys will offer information on child support, modifications, visitation, parenting time, custody, family law and contempt citations
Legal information is presented in an online group setting as a free information resource, not as official legal representation.
Family law open forums meet every third Tuesday of every month, from 5:30-7 p.m. and are open to anyone in the metro Denver area.
The next open law forum will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17.
