Deputies first responded to the scene at about midnight Saturday night in response to a 911 call about the shooting, police said. Upon arrival, they found the man in the street; he was later pronounced dead by responding medical personnel.

Ramirez-Ayala was taken into custody after witnesses of the incident told deputies where he lived, as he was getting into a vehicle at his residence Sunday morning.

Ramirez-Ayala will next appear in court at 8:30 a.m. July 18.
