RTD prepared to support ridership increase during Coldplay concert

The Regional Transportation District is preparing to support an expected increase in ridership during Coldplay’s “Music Of The Spheres World Tour” concert on Tuesday at Empower Field at Mile High.

Transit officials also encouraged people using RTD rail lines or buses to get to the venue to use the agency’s Next Ride trip planning tool and type “Coldplay” in the destination field.

The Trip Planner will show available transit routes to the concert, including departure updates in real time from users’ current location.

For rail service, RTD will offer regularly scheduled service on the E and W lines, which serve Empower Field at Mile High Station, as well as A, B, G and N lines, which provide service to Denver Union Station — both before and after the concert.

The Auraria West Station will be closed 3:30 p.m. to midnight to account for the large increase in crowds. Authorities asked customers to use the nearby Empower Field at Mile High Station.
