1-year-old boy dead after going missing at riverside open space in Colorado mountain town

A search for a missing one-and-a-half year old that took place in the Colorado mountain town of Silverthrone on Tuesday ended in tragedy, with the young boy found deceased per an update at 6:15 p.m.
An initial report about the situation was released at about 3:48 p.m., informing the public about how the young boy had gone missing in the area of Willow Grove Open Space. This open space is located on the northern side of Silverthorne, found along the Blue River and its namesake trail.
The public was asked to recreate in other areas during the search, with a large group of local police officers, search and rescue personnel, and personnel from other law enforcement agencies scouring the area in search of the child. The search was focused on the Blue River.
Details about where the boy was found were not released, though it was reported that his body was found at about 5 p.m.
The body’s cause-of-death will be released by the county coroner at a later time.
