CHSAA to introduce new floor at Denver Coliseum for spirit, state basketball
Prepare for a new look at the Denver Coliseum for the upcoming preps season.
CHSAA announced earlier in July the introduction of a new floor at the venue. The organization plans to unveil it in December during the state spirit competition.
The court will also be featured during the 6A-4A state boys and girls basketball state championship competitions in March.
“We’d like to thank Sport Court of the Rockies and the Denver Coliseum for allowing this dream to become a reality,” CHSAA Commissioner Mike Krueger said in a release. “This new floor design helps us brand our championships that are hosted at the Denver Coliseum as CHSAA events. It also aids in elevating the atmosphere in which our member schools can compete for a state championship.”
The court will display CHSAA’s updated logo and color scheme, and the Sport Court of the Rockies logo will also be included at both ends m of the floor and on the sidelines.
In the release, CHSAA said, the floor “will primarily be used for the CHSAA spirit and boys and girls basketball state championships.” State girls volleyball, which occurs in November at the Coliseum will continue using the previous courts.
At this time, CHSAA has not mentioned new courts for the 3A-1A state basketball events, which occur in separate locations.
