David Adelman adding Jared Dudley to Nuggets’ coaching staff, report says
David Adelman found his lead assistant in Dallas.
Jared Dudley is leaving his job as a Mavericks assistant to join Adelman’s first staff in Denver according to a report by ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Dudley played for seven different teams in a 14-year playing career. He finished his playing career with the Lakers in 2020-21 and joined the Mavericks staff shortly after. He was a member of the Lakers’ 2020 championship squad.
After four years at Boston College, the San Diego native was drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats with the 22nd pick of the 2007 draft. His most productive seasons came playing alongside Steve Nash in Phoenix.
Dudley’s departure continues a string of exits from Jason Kidd’s coaching staff. Sean Sweeney left to become the associate head coach in San Antonio, while God Shammgod departed Dallas to join Jamahl Mosley’s staff in Orlando.
Adelman hired JJ Barea and Rodney Billups to his staff earlier this week.
Earlier this offseason, it was announced Ryan Saunders, Popeye Jones and Charles Klask were among the assistants not retained on Adelman’s first staff. Barea and Billups will join holdovers Ryan Bowen, John Beckett, Ognjen Stojakovic, Elvis Valcarcel and Andrew Munson on the bench next season. Munson will coach the Nuggets’ Summer League squad.
