Multiple people stabbed at Walmart in Michigan, suspect in custody
Multiple people were stabbed at a Walmart in northern Michigan, on Saturday, with one suspect in custody.
At around 6 p.m. Eastern time, local police said they were investigating a “multiple stabbing incident” at a Walmart store in Traverse City, located around 140 miles north of Grand Rapids. They added that a suspect is in custody, while acknowledging that details around the incident are limited.
Shortly after the reported stabbing, Munson Healthcare, the largest healthcare system in northern Michigan, said in a statement that 11 people are currently being treated at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City.
Michigan State Police urged people to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing.
