The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released an early prediction for what the winter of 2025 to 2026 could look like, and the news might bode well for a good season of snowsports in Colorado.
As of the July outlook report, weather conditions in Colorado from December through February have equal chances of being above-norm or below-norm in terms of precipitation with temperatures looking like they’ll be a bit warmer than normal at this time.
In other words, the report is kind of a ‘no news is good news’ sort of situation when it comes to snow. While forecasters aren’t saying something like ‘it’s really looking like a lot of snow in Colorado this year,’ they’re also not calling for a high chance of abnormal dryness at this time.

Obviously, this report is very much so a long-term prediction and a lot can change between now and December. But for now, it should be enough to keep Coloradans hopeful for a snowy year.
