RTD emergency preparedness drill affects R line Saturday

Emergency services training will disrupt travel on the Regional Transportation District’s R Line on Saturday, July 26, from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. between Peoria, Fitzsimons, Colfax and 13th Avenue stations.

Bus shuttles will transport passengers around the blockage. Travelers should look for posted signage at stations that will provide real-time updates.

Local residents and businesses near the four stations may see emergency vehicles and emergency responders during the exercise.

The drill is part of RTD’s regular emergency preparedness training designed to maintain effective coordination between RTD and local agencies during emergencies and keep customers safe.

Gate assignments for shuttle service are as follows:

• Peoria Station: Gate E

• Fitzsimons Station: Light rail bus shuttle stop sign

• Colfax Station: Bus stop at station

• 13th Avenue Station: Light rail bus shuttle stop sign

R Line service will resume following completion of the exercise. Customers are encouraged to check RTD’s Next Ride app before traveling and sign up for Service Alerts for specific route information.

For more information, call RTD Customer Care at 303-299-6000.
