Tucked beneath a stunning mountainscape, Frisco Bay Marina’s annual sandcastle competition for kids ages 12 and under will take place on August 10 at 10 a.m.

The competition will start on the marina’s sandy beach and competitors will have from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to create their sculptures. Judging will begin at 11:30 a.m., and an awards celebration will take place at noon.

There are four age divisions: 1-3 years old, 4-6 years old, and 10-12 years old. Participants can join the competition individually or form teams of up to four participants. Children are also encouraged to bring their own sandcastle building supplies and anything they want to use to decorate their sand art.

All children will get a free popsicle. Prizes will be awarded to first place overall, and first, second, and third places in each age category.

Any sandcastle decor must stay with the sandcastles for public viewing during the afternoon and can be picked up at 3 p.m.
