Broncos sign CB Gregory Junior, waive DL Matt Henningsen with injury designation
The Broncos signed cornerback Gregory Junior and waived defensive lineman Matt Henningsen with an injury designation, the team announced Sunday.
Junior, 26, is a former sixth-round draft pick taken by the Jaguars. He appeared in 10 games for Jacksonville between the 2022 and 2023 NFL seasons. He recorded 17 total tackles (two for loss) and one pass defensed over that span. Junior also spent time on the practice squad last season with the Texans and Colts.

Henningsen suffered an Achilles injury during joint practice last week at the 49ers. Coach Sean Payton told reporters after the preseason game Saturday that Henningsen will have surgery and will be out for the season. Henningsen was on Denver’s 53-man roster in 2022 and 2023. The former sixth-round draft pick spent last season on the practice squad.
“He’ll be having surgery when we get back to Denver,” Payton said of Henningsen. “And it did come back as an Achilles tear. So, unfortunately, I hate that for him. And that’ll put him out for the season.”
Denver returns to training camp practice on Tuesday at Broncos Park.
