Denver weather: Seasonable summer day Tuesday across the metro area

A return of seasonable weather to Denver starts Tuesday as high temperatures push toward 90 degrees ahead of another extended heat wave lasting through the rest of the week.
Denver residents can expect sunny skies, with a high near 88 today, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Light and variable winds will become southeast 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.

Tonight it’ll be mostly clear, with a low around 63. South winds between 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph will blow.
“Dry conditions will prevail through the middle of this week,” the NWS said. “Temperatures will also return to above normal levels with highs reaching the mid to upper 90s over the plains and I-25 corridor Wednesday and Thursday.”
Only a slight chance of afternoon showers is forecast heading into the weekend as well.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest 5 to 8 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 18 mph.
Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.
Saturday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92
