Lone Tree man arrested on suspicion of impersonating a police officer

Lone Tree police arrested a man Tuesday on suspicion of impersonating a police officer to weave through traffic on the interstate.

Terry Pendleton, 58, was taken into custody after police conducted an investigation into his use of a black 2021 Ford Explorer equipped with police-like lights and sirens, according to a news release from the Lone Tree Police Department posted on social media.

Investigators found one particular incident where Pendleton used his car’s lights to maneuver through traffic on Interstate 25, police said. The man has never been employed by law enforcement.

Police believe there may have been other incidents where Pendleton impersonated an officer, they said. Anyone with information about additional incidents is asked to contact Det. John Hastings at 720-509-1190.
