It’s never fun to get stuck in traffic on Colorado’s I-25 – and one man allegedly went to extreme lengths to escape this travel pain.

According to a press release from the City of Lone Tree Government, 58-year-old Terry Pendleton was recently arrested on charges of impersonating a police officer. Pendleton reportedly had his black Ford Explorer equipped with police-like lights and siren features, an audible siren, and a public address system, with Pendleton allegedly using the vehicle’s lights to maneuver through traffic on I-25.

The press release on the matter noted that Pendleton has never been employed as law enforcement.

Investigators are reportedly suspicious that other incidents involving Pendleton may have occurred and have asked any potential witnesses to contact Detective John Hastings at 720-509-1190.

All charges are merely accusations and all suspects are to be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
