Park After Dark, a free community event series in Frisco, is set to return to the mountain town on August 12 and September 20.
The event series is put on by the Frisco Historic Park and Museum, and provides “fun, educational, and historic experiences for all ages.” This year will include a moon-guided tour with Astro Mark on August 12 and a “modern twist” on the old-fashioned community dance during a silent disco.
Astro Mark will do free guided walking tours at the Historic Park Gazebo during the peak of the Perseids Meteor Shower on August 12. The tours will be 40 minutes long, and attendees will learn how to identify constellations and learn about their history and mythology.
The tours will take place at 9 p.m., 9:15 p.m., 10 p.m., and 10:15 p.m. To book a tour, call the museum at 970-668-3428.
The second event in the series will be a silent disco at Frisco’s Schoolhouse Museum on September 20. The event, a nod to Frisco’s old town dances, will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The dance will celebrate the end of summer and include a DJ, mocktails, and a pop-up, water-based, temporary tattoo booth.
