Early morning fire displaces 17 people in Denver

Denver Fire responded to a report of a structure fire early Tuesday morning near East Oxford Drive and South Yosemite Street.

When firefighters arrived, they saw heavy smoke and fire, according to a social media post from Denver Fire.

The American Red Cross will be assisting with the 17 people who were displaced by the fire, according to Denver Fire.

“Around 3:20 in the morning I heard a loud bang,” resident Christopher Cho told 9News. “Not even five minutes after I heard one of my neighbors yell call 911.”

Firefighters were able to get the fire under control and no injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
