Two teens arrested following Leadville shooting
Two teenage suspects were arrested in connection with a Leadville shooting that injured one.
On Monday, at approximately noon, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a shooting near 19773 Highway 24 in Leadville.
The call came from a teenage boy who reported being confronted by two other teens and was shot in his arm, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said in a news release.
The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
Shortly after the incident, Lake County deputies found and arrested the two male teenage suspects, both of which are from the Leadville/Lake County area according to CBI.
Both suspects have been charged with attempted first-degree murder.
CBI has requested to take the lead on the investigation with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office assisting.
Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
