Video released of suspect who shot security guard at Aurora sports bar

The Aurora Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect who shot a sports bar security guard last month.

The next shooting happened the night of Feb. 27 at the Challengers Sports Bar at 12161 E. Iliff Ave. Police said a patron at the bar shot a security guard after the customer was asked to leave.

The security guard was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. He is still recovering, police said.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect firing a gun outside of the bar at 11:45 p.m.

The suspect appears to be a man with tan or brown skin. He is shown wearing a plaid shirt and a dark hat.

Anyone with information is asked to submit tips to APDcrimetips@auroragov.org.

To be anonymous, tipsters can call Metro Denver Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Information leading to an arrest is eligible for a $2,000 reward.
