New traffic pattern coming to DIA

Travelers headed to Denver International Airport this weekend may encounter some slight traffic delays as the airport realigns traffic lanes along Peña Boulevard.

DIA hits second milestone of Great Hall terminal renovation project

Only one of the three lanes will be open along eastbound Peña Boulevard from 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon until 4 a.m. Sunday. Despite the work being planned in alignment with the airports slower traffic time, officials are warning of possible delays. 

Another lane closure will occur in the same around between 9 p.m. Sunday and 4 a.m. Monday. 

DIA completes its first new gate expansion

Upon completion, the enhancement is designed to add safety and additional capacity along the street between the Jackson Gap on-ramp and the East-West Terminal split, officials said. 

Due to the lane closures, airport officials are urging those picking up travelers to wait in the designated cell phone waiting lot at Final Approach until their family or friend has arrived at the passenger pick-up area.

United Airlines to offer bus service from DIA to Breckenridge, Loveland

This project is just one phase of a larger project that aims to improve the safety of the roads near the airport. 

Future improvements will include addressing aging and failing infrastructure that includes replacing 25-year-old pavement, and adding two additional lanes along Peña Boulevard.
