More rounds of thunderstorms are possible Friday around metro Denver as ‘derechoesque’ and micro-burst winds are possible from a few storm cells.

Denver residents can expect a chance of showers and thunderstorms, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 5 p.m., according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. Clouds increase throughout the day, with a high near 88.

South winds between 5 to 10 mph become north in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Tonight expect showers and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then a chance of showers. A low around 59 is forecast.

West southwest winds between 5 to 10 mph become light and variable after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.

Saturday could bring more rain to the Denver area but the threat of severe weather is slightly lower as the weekend starts.

Sunday brings rain relief, however, the high temperatures rise back into the middle 90s along the urban corridor.

A busy pattern of daily rain starts Monday and next week as the longer range forecast has cooler temperatures and more moisture entering the state and metro area each day.

Monday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95.

Tuesday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91.
