Colorado Avalanche top line needs more adjusting as J.T. Compher expected to miss about a month

Colorado Avalanche forward J.T. Compher, who is tied for the team lead in goals with five, will miss about a month with an upper-body injury.

Compher left the first period of Saturday’s 6-2 win against the San Jose Sharks. He had been centering the top line alongside Gabriel Landeskog and Mikko Rantanen with Nathan MacKinnon (lower body) injured.

Rookie defenseman Bowen Byram is in concussion protocol. He did not play Saturday.
