Lakewood opens applications for $160,000 in neighborhood improvement grants

The city of Lakewood launched its Neighborhood Participation Program Monday, providing grants for Lakewood neighborhoods to fund improvement projects.

A total of $160,000 will be awarded for the 2021 program through individual grants of up to $60,000.

Project proposals can include sidewalk and bike path connections, picnic facilities, playgrounds, community gardens, public artwork and more.

The 27-year-old project intends to help create a sense of community within Lakewood’s neighborhoods.

Boulder County opens applications for food and agriculture project fund

Eligible projects must benefit the entire neighborhood and be located on public property. Applications must be submitted by an organized group representing the neighborhood with a petition expressing the neighborhood’s support.

Proposals will be evaluated and chosen by the Lakewood City Council.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on March 5. Application materials and full requirements are available online at lakewood.org.
